Some Advice from a Canadian on Same-Sex Marriage
A few weeks ago I read an extremely well thought out post on same-sex marriage. The author offers advice on how Christians can respond helpfully when the law of the land supports a post-Christian culture. His words make sense, are non-inflammatory and, in my view, bring Jesus great pleasure.
Carey Nieuwhof, a Canadian, wrote his post in response to the flurry of reaction set off by the June, 2015 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that same-sex couples can marry in all 50 states. He writes “from the perspective of a pastor of an evangelical church in a country where same sex-marriage has been the law of the land for a decade … [and] we’ve had a decade to process and pray over the issue.”
As he states, “The purpose of this post is to think through how to respond as a church when the law of the land changes as fundamentally as it’s changing on same-sex marriage and many other issues.” His perspectives are refreshing and thoughtful. I can almost hear them come out of Jesus’ mouth.
Rather than trying to add to his words, I’m going to simply link you his post of June 29, 2015. Please, carefully read Some Advice on Same-Sex Marriage for US Church Leaders From a Canadian. I pray you will thoughtfully consider what he says.

I read this article also. It made me think, inspired me to try to be more like Christ and in some way gave me a sense of peace.
I agree. I found his thinking on this subject both clear and challenging in a good way.
